A surprise for the last Bandcamp Friday of the year
It's only December 6th but as a little early Christmas gift to mark the last Bandcamp Friday of 2024, I've dug back into my musical archive/dungeon and rediscovered this little seasonal gem that I recorded way back when in 2012, when I was first teaching myself how to record and making little demos at home.
The original song, All I Wants Is Truth for Christmas, is by the amazing band The Mynabirds. I think you'll find the lyrics even more apt in these uncertain times than they were when Laura Burhenn first wrote them while musing on the perils of capitalism and global warming in 2010...

Today is also the official release day for the Versions: Encore 12” vinyl EP which has been flying out the door on preorder so much so that we only have 27 copies left now.
The EP brings together 6 of my more recent reworkings of songs by Joy Division, The Smiths, Suede, & Blur, available on vinyl for the very first time as a limited edition pressing of 500 copies only. Grab it while you can!
This week I was also really honoured to find out that one of my songs has been featured on the new Behind The Counter compilation by Ian Rankin. Needless to say I am absolutely thrilled to be amongst such esteemed company alongside The Cure, Simple Minds, Brian Eno, Isobel Campbell and many more... Ian’s compilation is available as a limited editon 2LP and 2CD from your local record store. Signed copies are exclusive to Rough Trade.
