Thank you for sharing this. I can really relate to a lot of it, and never really found the words to articulate it, like you have. It was lovely to meet you in Manchester in April. Thank you for being so accommodating beforehand when I said about being autistic myself.
Hands down, one of the best shows I've been to. I can't wait to come to another. Would love for you to come to Blackburn (not hinting there, honestly... 😉). I'm delving into the archive now, I really do like how you write. Language and the articulation of it is something I really like, it's almost a special interest but not quite.... yet.
Brilliantly articulated and relatable in very many ways. I hope writing this helps a little as reading it certainly does. Thank you for sharing Catherine.
Thank you Nigel. It's strange how alone you can feel in all of this, because of course connecting with others is in and of itself such a tricky thing. Thank ye gods for the internet at least!
I think often music or other performance is a refuge for people with neurodiversity or social anxiety; it provides a means of expression and creativity in a structured and supportive environment without the risk of - horror of horrors - having to make spontaneous small talk with the fear of saying something idiotic or being totally tongue-tied. Neurodiversity has given us so much great music and works of art.
I love your passion for vintage synths; my irrational loves are for old and well-used guitars and amplifiers. Oh, and LPs/78s of early classical recordings.
not sure anyone likes comparisons, especially with a dude, but a bit tin drum/art of parties-era sylvian foto vibes there. Oh and cheers for the insights. Read something a few days ago from someone's personal proclamation about the importance of in-person meetings secondarily followed by phone calls when own long embedded preference is for email not even caring for texts*! Isolation Islanders. *have trained customers to not text to the chagrin of some touchy types. **shoulder shrug emoji**

Thanks James. I'm glad you were able to have a good experience at the show x

Imagine my giddiness when my favourite language (German) and Manics - Europa Geht Durch Mich as a song... that song is never far away from my ears. 🤣

Thanks Jeff, glad you found something relatable x
Thank you for sharing all of this, CAD.
Thanks for reading
Well… it wasn't hidden behind a paywall.
I can relate to just about every word of this. Thank you for putting it into words.

Absolutely concur with this. Music is my sanctuary and refuge when things are a bit too much to handle.
